China Leading Way With Facial-Recognition Eyewear for Police


With the high-tech spy specs, China – already a leader in deploying spying technologies based on artificial intelligence – could expand surveillance to allow police to look into places fixed cameras aren’t scanning, according to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the development. The devices were hailed in state media ahead of Lunar New Year travel this week, getting first-time use by police in train stations and airports, the Journal reported.
